Wine of the Day: 2017 Fields Family Wine Mourvedre Bokides Vineyard

Fruit for this wine was sourced from the Bokides Vineyard in Lodi. It’s nearly opaque violet color with black cherry liqueur, blackberry, violets, savory dried herbs, and a bit of smoked meat. On the palate it’s full-bodied, structured and fresh with a very appealing mouthfeel. It shows ample black cherry liqueur, mulberry, red cherry, ripe blackberry, and a bit of spice flavors buoyed by bright acidity and an appealing bit of earthiness with a medium+ finish. 14.9% abv|SRP – $28. This alluring wine was delightful paired with Mediterranean Lamb Stew!

Love your notes on this wine, it’s not often you see a single varietal mourvedre from the US. I haven’t found any of this locally via online channels so we’ll just wait for that border to open so we can get down to the source!
